God is an infinite Being without form. Symbolic forms were created to aid the mind to pray or meditate on God using these forms which has attributes of the infinite Lord who we cannot see. Around the symbolic forms of the infinite were built stories to relate a philosophy to help us to understand a pathway to the happiness we seek in life. This is the happiness that is everlasting.

Of course the Gods you refer to are married and they have children. They teach us how to live a moral and ethical life to be part of the society in which we live. These Gods are symbolic forms that were created to aid our minds to reach or appreciate the infinite.
