SPRING BREAK CAMP (April 13,14 & 15)- TESTIMONIALS & IMAGES
Hi This is Abeeshnan,Ragavy, Amutheesan’s mum.(Nira). Thank you so much for your valuable time that you spent with our kids. They said they enjoyed a lot and also learned so much from you. Really appreciated and thank you very much.

Namaste camp committee,
Hope that you are well! We wanted to send along our thanks for an amazing three day camp – the kids (and I) enjoyed all of their involvement in it and from making beautiful arts to learning about the different lessons, bhangra and snacks/meals, it was a fantastic way for them to spend their mornings.
Thank you to everyone for their time and effort – you’re all amazing!
Wishing you wellness always,
The Kanani Family

Namaste Everyone!
I sincerely wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for a fantastic camp experience. My niece and nephew (Aashna & Raaghav) both loved the camp and my nephew especially kept saying how much he enjoyed all the counselors.
The activities were wonderful along with the variety of topics to keep the attendees engaged. My 5-year old niece said she “loves Jai Jai camp!”.
Thank you again for an amazing experience. It make us feel so proud to be part of the Vishnu Mandir community.
A question I have is do you by any chance have a booklet that we can purchase of the prayers that the children recited at camp? We would love to be able to keep the kids reciting and learning the prayers.
Best Wishes and look forward to the summer camp!
Best Regards,
Meena

Message from VOV Summer Camp Committee (2 Sep 2020)
VOV ANNUAL SUMMER CAMP: (Updated Aug 28, 2020)
Every summer a group of teachers, volunteers and student counselors come together to create a “one of a kind” experience for the children at the Vishnu Mandir in Toronto, Canada.
The Goals for the Summer Camp are as follows:
-
Provide a safe, fun and enriching experience founded on the cornerstones of respect, responsibility, teamwork and positive social interactions
-
Instill a sense of belonging to this community by helping children find their “Hindu Identity” and teaching them how that aligns with being model Canadian citizens
-
Raise confident, inclusive leaders who focus on bettering their community and themselves
Months of planning, training and effort are put into creating an experience that enriches the hearts and minds of young children. The objective and vision of the yearly Camp is to build confidence, communication, teamwork and leadership skills. We create an interactive experience where children connect to Hindu values and teachings in a fun atmosphere through prayers, storytelling, crafts, yoga, meditation, dance classes, cooking and outdoor activities in a safe and spiritual environment. Children are divided into age appropriate groups, which are led by groups of enthusiastic student counselors, teachers and volunteers.
This year, due to Covid 19 and in the midst of uncertainty and fear, the 2020 physical summer Camp was cancelled. Within a 5-week span, the Camp Committee chose to focus on positivity and successfully executed a Virtual Camp themed “A Celebration of Festivals”. We attracted students not only in the GTA but also from different cities in the US. The camp had 56 registered students who participated in an immersive virtual learning consisting of 5 Hindu festivals; Ganesh Chathurthi, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Makar Sankranti and Janamasthami.
The success of this Virtual Camp and previous physical Camps is a collaborative effort of dedicated teachers, counselors, volunteers and the trust and support of the parents. Thank you!
Upon completion, the testimonials received are positive and welcoming. We hope you will join us each year as we continue to nurture the development of your children’s faith, growth and enhance the importance of their culture and dharma.
Below you can read some testimonials and images of the student participation in the Camp.
Thanks

To: [email protected] <[email protected]>The VOV Vishnu Mandir Camp was thoroughly enjoyed by my three children. They looked forward to each day of activities that were well planned. Teachers and counsellors did their best to adapt to situations and troubleshooting challenges. My kids cannot wait for the next sumo camp session!
