Become a Volunteer

Volunteer Program at the Voice of Vedas:

The volunteer program at the Voice of Vedas is specifically designed to best suit the skills of the volunteering individual so the best effective and efficient schedule may be incorporated. Students requiring a certificate for the mandatory volunteer hours required by the Ontario School Board are also issued one that is widely acceptable by all the boards in the province. We define volunteering as any activity that involves giving of your time, willingly to help others or the community so that you may reap the reward of learning and developing yourself mentally and spiritually.

Principles of Volunteering

  • Volunteering benefits the volunteer first and then others.
  • Volunteering is mostly a matter of choice.
  • Volunteering is a vehicle for individuals or groups to address human, environmental and social needs.
  • Volunteering is a legitimate way in which citizens can participate in the activities of their community and at the same time keep themselves and their minds active.
  • Volunteering respects the rights, dignity and culture of others.

You give little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

Kahlil Gibran

Scriptures tell us, selfless work (volunteering) is a very beneficial for spiritual progress. Selfless work to help the community or individuals is a sure means to help us to realise our connection to one another and to the universe.

Our prayer always is – “May all be happy, may all be healthy, may all prosper may none suffer”

Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah
Sarve Santu Nir-Aamayaah |
Sarve Bhadraanni Pashyantu
Maa Kashcid-Duhkha-Bhaag-Bhavet |
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||

When we volunteer we truly live this prayer.
