AKHAND RAMAYAN PAATH – FRI JAN 11(5 PM) to SAT JAN 12 (5 PM)

Akhand Ramayan Paath is the process of reciting the whole of the epic Ramayan, nonstop, which approximately takes 24 hours.

Shri Ramcharitmanas, otherwise called Shri Tulsikrit Ramayana, is an epic composed by Tulsidas (also known as Goswami Tulsidas). He was an Indian bhakti poet, a holy person, reformer and scholar of the sixteenth century, renowned for his commitment to Lord Rama. Tulsidas was acclaimed in his lifetime to be a reincarnation of Valmiki, the original writer and composer of the epic poem Ramayana in Sanskrit.

The expression “Akhand” implies ‘with no break’ or ‘unbroken’. Thus, Akhand Ramayan Paath is recitation of the epic Shri Ramcharitmanas without any interruptions, through the process of reciting all of the 7 Kaands or sections of the poem.

The advantages of Akhand Ramayana are many. To name a few:

It brings about peace, prosperity and happiness to the family.
It is viewed propitious to perform the Paath before commencement of a new business, before entering a new house (Griha Pravesh), birth of a child, marriage ceremony, and so forth.
It keeps away unknown threats, particularly in the realm of health.
It brings about a divine aura to the place where it is performed, thereby cleansing it and energizing it.

Directed by our priest the recitation will start on Fri Jan 11 at 5 pm. Paath will be concluding after 24 hours on Sat Jan 12th around 5 pm by performing the Aarthi, Hanuman Chalisa, bhajan & preeti Bhoj.
