As you are aware, after a long wait of over 500 years, the landmark event of the consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Bhagavan Ramlala took place on January 22nd, 2024. Hindus all over the world have been waiting for this momentous event for centuries. The opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has brought joy to over 1.5 billion Hindus worldwide, resulting in renewed energy and faith. For the first time, people of all ages—children, youth, adults, and seniors—have come together with a revived sense of belonging and pride in their Hindu identity. This is the largest pilgrimage for the Hindu religion, marking its long-awaited revival.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad Canada are excited to announce our North America-wide Shri Ram Rath Yatra, a car rally starting on March 25, 2024, and traveling across the USA and Canada.
This Yatra is going to be the first of its kind happening in North America since humans set foot on this ground! Starting from March 25, 2024, and running parallel in Canada and the USA, we are embarking on a pilgrimage to celebrate Rath Mahotsav across North America. We are covering more than 1000 temples across 16,000 miles!
In the USA, the Yatra will start from Chicago and travel over 8000 miles, while in Canada, it will start from Vishnu Mandir, 8640 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill and cover the east and west coasts, spanning over 8200 miles. This yatra will cover 851+ Hindu Mandirs in the USA and 151+ Mandirs in Canada.
With this Rath Yatra, we intend to create Shri Ram Bhakti Setus across North America and spread the values of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family), integral to the Hindu religion, and share messages of Shri Ram Bhakti, Inclusion, Diversity, and Pluralism. The journey will offer an opportunity for all Hindus who have not been able to visit Ayodhya recently to experience the divine presence of Shri Ram Mandir across all major cities and Mandirs in North America.
